Beach is the place that can make everyone feel good, right? Thus, beach decor is something that should be coming up in mind when thinking about bathroom designs.

Your bathroom is the first place you visit when you wake up, and the last place you visit before bed. With a relaxing and soothing atmosphere, your bathroom design could go a long way in changing the attitude you have the rest of the day.

A good design does not need to break the bank. It needs to be a bit creative, and if you do not feel like you are the creative type, give it a try. The first step when taking on any bathroom design is going to the paint shop nearby. Take some time to take a closer look at your bathroom thoroughly. If you have a large space to work with, think about using darker blues that remind you of the depths of the ocean. When working with a smaller space, consider using lighter colors like light shades of blues or greens, which will make a smaller space seems larger.

Using wallpaper is also an option. Make sure you choose a design you like. If you are an artist, or have a friend who is an artist, you should consider painting a mural on the wall instead. Murals and wallpaper can be great if you want to depict a specific beach scene on the wall of you bathroom. But you do not have to go that far if you do not want to. Painting the walls a solid color is often all that is needed to create the desired mood that remind you of a beach getaway.

Every bathroom needs a rug! It’s so important. A rug will keep your feet from getting cold on the tile, and can go a long way in preventing slips when the floor is slightly wet. To give your bathroom design a more beach-like feel, after painting of course, change the rug. If you choose darker colors for the wall, choose a lighter color rug that reminds you of sand. If your walls are the lighter shade, then consider a rug that makes you think of swimming in the cool depths of the ocean. Since rugs come in about every shape and size imaginable, even consider rugs shaped like fish and shells. This can be a great way to introduce some bright colors to your room.

When placing items in your bathroom design, you are supposed to take some time to write down a few items that remind you of the beach. Sand is usually the first thing that pops up in mind. Take a glass bowl or tray and fill it about half way with sand. Place some sea shells, and rocks on top of the sand to create your own miniature beach. This can be displayed on a counter or on the back of a commode.

Have fun creating a space that will remind you to relax just like you do at the beach. Remember not to stress when working on your bathroom design. Don’t be afraid to think differently!
