Garden roses have been one of the most popular flowering plants that most home gardeners prefer for a very long, long time. Not only are roses the most beautiful flowers that people frequently use for expressing love and passion, they are also the most amazingly fragrant flowers that you can’t miss to plant in your garden.
General Growing Requirement for Garden Roses
Garden roses will produce their perfectly beautiful bloom when grown outdoors with sunlight at least 5-6 hours a day.
# Temperature and Ventilation
Most rose plants prefer to be grown in planting location coming with the ideal temperature range between 60๐ F and 80๐ F and good air ventilation. And when winter comes, you may need a good padding to help your rose roots survive the severe winter. Cold weather can definitely damage the roots of your roses, especially when the temperature is below 14๐ F.
# Watering and Fertilizing
Deeply watering is very important for growing garden roses. These plants grow well in humid (but NOT wet) soil. Please note that you should avoid splashing onto their leaves that may spread the disease. If you want to feed your garden roses, make sure to fertilize them after each flush of blooms only.
Pruning just once a year is the key factor for making your garden roses healthy. Do it in the late winter or in early spring. Moreover, be certain to consider the shape and height of your rose plants you prefer before pruning.
